Restaurant Lurleens at Sirromet for Breakfast

Biz and I caught up recently over Sunday breakfast. We went on a bit of an adventure, embarking at West End (with the intention of eating locally) but spontaneously ending up on a drive down the Pacific and ending at Mt Cotton.

I adore Sirromet Winery for cheese, wine and hangs. It's just such a pacifying location. I've never eaten at Restaurant Lurleens before though. I think we tried to one time for Mother's day or mum's birthday or something mum-related but it was booked out at the time.

Not being one to learn from my mistakes, we attempted a walk-in this morning and were lucky enough to be granted a table. The restaurant is wonderfully spacious and light with gorgeous wooden beams and stone columns.

Latte

I started with a coffee, my second of the day. At 9:30am, that could indicate a problem! The coffee was good.

Sourdough toast - with creamed mushrooms, double smoked Criberg bacon, asparagus and rocket

My breakfast choice was the creamed mushrooms on sourdough. The mushrooms were juicy and delicious. I loved the garnish of fresh rocket. This was a simple but very satisfying dish.

Free range scrambled eggs - on muffin served with bacon

Biz went with the scrambled eggs. It was served with a toasted muffin and crispy bacon. The eggs were cooked really well, just soft and tender.

We had a lovely meal at Restaurant Lurleens. The food options are familiar, without lots of the crazy, creative dishes that are often seen on breakfast menus these days. I'd recommend this place for a comforting meal with a nice view but maybe not if you're after something innovative.

  2. Hi mochi...

What's their non-breakfast food like? I agree the atmosphere/view is gorgeous.
